LWVB Brookline/Brookline PAX and Speak Out Seniors

Just a reminder to Brookline residents — LWVB Brookline, Brookline PAX and Speak Out, Seniors! will hold a rally for No Kings Day this Saturday at Coolidge Corner, 1-2:30 pm.  More than 3,000 No Kings rallies will take place across the United States and on six continents!  (Our rally is not on the national map because the national organizers felt we were too close to Boston, where some  100,000 are expected! However, you can register here https://www.mobilize.us/speakoutseniors/event/916646/ and we will be glad to welcome you to our friendly and peaceful local rally!)

Let’s help make Saturday the biggest day of protest in the 250 year history of the United States!

A couple of things to get you in the mood.  First, a trailer for an upcoming documentary about this moment:

Lightworkers | Trailer v7

(Full disclosure:  Jonathan Margolis’ friend Robert Hubbell is one of those featured.)

Then, Bette Midler has done this update of a Woody Guthrie classic:

Preparing for the May Elections

Dear Brookline Neighbors,

Forwarding the below for your information

The Select Board has voted to place a $23.25 million override question on the ballot. For those who support the override and plan to vote Yes (as I plan to do), you may be interested in the Yes for Brookline campaign kickoff this Saturday March 28th.Please see the details below. I hope you plan to attend!

For those who plan to vote No or are still undecided, I would love to hear your questions, thoughts, and concerns about the override.  Please reach out to me. Whatever the result of the override vote, I care about what you think and what the result will mean for you, your family and our community.

We also have competitive races for the Select Board, School Committee, Trustees of the Public Library, and Town Meeting. I’ll do my best to share more about those closer to Election Day (May 5), but I encourage you to check out the following candidate forums. This is a great way to learn about the candidates. I will also post a link to the voters guide once it becomes available.
